Purpose of the Community Membership

The community membership is intended to provide a new offering for Ama La Vida community members to engage in coaching as a part of a collective. Our members who have either met their goals or who have not yet reached their goals, but were unable to continue individual coaching due to life or financial circumstances, expressed a desire to come back to Ama La Vida to continue their coaching journey. While Ama La Vida has offered group coaching in the past, we have decided to create the community membership to meet the increasing demands to provide accessible coaching for all - a part of the original vision for Ama La Vida.

Group coaching has been proven to have a positive impact on those participating in the group coaching process. Unlike one on one dedicated coaching, clients have the opportunity to hear varying perspectives, share from their own experiences, and learn from others. In group coaching sessions, clients participating in a research study have expressed following valuable benefits of participating in group coaching sessions:

We know from adult learning theory, there is value in “lurking while learning” as well as having other individuals along on the coaching journey to provide prospective and support. As a part of a larger group, there is learning which happens by hearing about others experiences and internally processing how they would approach the situation based on what they learned in the session. While ideally, we would like all participants to verbally engage during coaching, recognize there is also value in the silence within the group - that can often be where learning and change is happening as well.
